On behalf of our Herd, WELCOME HOME!

Congratulations on becoming a member of Howard University HU30 class.

As you prepare to begin your journey at The Mecca, we want to introduce ourselves and welcome you to a bison community that extends far beyond your years on campus.

Last Bison Standing is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Our mission is to provide financial assistance, emergency support, educational resources, and opportunities that help undergraduates persist through graduation. We believe every Bison’s journey is different, and sometimes all it takes is a community willing to stand beside you when you need it most.

Over the years, our supporters have helped provide emergency assistance, scholarships, textbook support, housing assistance, graduation resources, professional development opportunities, and other forms of direct support to undergrads. None of this is made possible by a university budget—it happens because alumni, parents, community members, and fellow Bison choose to invest in one another.

As we welcome the HU30 class, we are looking for baby bison who want to do more than simply receive support. 

We are looking for individuals who want to build genuine relationships across generations of Bison and become active participants in strengthening our community.

There are many ways you can contribute:

Share your Howard journey and experiences.

Volunteer at community service and fundraising events.

Serve as an ambassador for various initiatives.

Help us connect classmates with available resources.

Introduce us to organizations, businesses, and alumni who may want to partner with our mission.

Most importantly, help cultivate a culture of paying it forward for the next generation of Bison.

You do not have to be a content creator, student leader, or have a large social media following to make an impact.

We value Bison who are dependable, collaborative, and committed to helping build something larger than themselves.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll receive additional information about our programs, volunteer opportunities, scholarships, and ways to become involved. Whether you need assistance someday or simply want to help someone else, we hope you’ll remain connected with our community throughout your Howard experience.
