WHAT is an AMBASSADOR?

Over the years, the term “Ambassador” has taken on a new meaning, especially in the world of content creation and user-generated content (UGC). For us, being an ambassador isn’t about selling products, becoming an influencer, or campus celebrity … you are a Keeper, Torch Bearer and storyteller.

Ambassadors tell the stories of bison from different walks of life while building stronger relationships between undergraduates, alumni, and the DC community.

Each year, we strive to put together a diverse class of Bison who are willing to allow the community to go on the journey with them. Everyone comes to Howard with their own story, and important that we use our space and platform to share them.

We are looking for incoming freshmen, transfer, and non traditional bison who are interested in helping us strengthen relationships between Bison across all generations. 

Our organization is in a unique position because we create opportunities for engagement that extend beyond the traditional spaces where alumni and undergraduates typically interact.

Along your journey, there are going to be times when you’ll need the support of the Herd in some capacity. Whether it’s encouragement, mentorship, networking, internships, scholarships, or simply pouring into each other those relationships matter. 

As alumni spend more time away from The Mecca, many enjoy the nostalgia our content brings. It allows them to reminisce about their own Howard experience while also investing in the next generation of Bison.

We’re also looking for individuals who are interested in being a voice for their classmates who may not be comfortable sharing their own stories publicly. 

Sometimes your role is simply helping ensure that the experiences, accomplishments, challenges, and perspectives of your class are represented in an authentic way.

General Ambassador Details for FALL 2026

1. Ambassador Donation

2. Active Ambassadors will receive discount code off Apparel Purchases (VINTAGE COLLECTIONS EXCLUDED)

3. Participation in all Cancer Related Fundraisers.

4. Ambassadors are responsible for paying all shipping cost related to any FREE apparel shipped by marketing team.

5. Participation in Community Service Initiatives as needed.

6.  Ambassadors agree to Submit Photos and Videos requested by Marketing Team in a timely manner.

what are the some of the roles of ambassadors?

Each Class of Ambassadors bring something different. Previous Class Ambassadors have done the following:

1. Financially Supported Organization through donations/purchases

2. Secured Donations from Business, Churches, and Special Groups.

3. Participated in Community Service Events on and off campus

4. Served on Marketing Committee

5. Speaking Engagements

6. Served as Liaison to different Organizations On Campus

7. Serve on Order Fulfillment Committee

8. Participate in Photoshoots/ Video Shoots as needed.
