WHO ARE WE?
LAST BISON STANDING is a public 501(c)3 charity established for the purpose of allocating high school and post-secondary grant monies to individuals who have overcome life altering circumstances.
Our organization is composed of dedicated alumni, undergraduate, and community volunteers working together to create a meaningful impact in the areas we serve.
Our funding is secured through selling licensed Howard Apparel, paid sponsorships, and generous community donations.
Since establishing ourselves during 2014-2015 academic year, Last Bison Standing has dedicated it's services to:
1. Finding and recognizing both high school, college, and vocational students with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to serving their community.
2. Providing them with financial support for undergraduate study as well as fellowship with other students who are committed to making a difference.
We have also created a Relief Fund to support our community.
We firmly believe Relief comes in many forms:
Care Packages that meet immediate and daily needs.
Financial assistance to cover unexpected expenses.
HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT US?
40% of the Charitable Contributions to our Organization come from Bison who didn’t graduate “on time” or Bison who didn’t finish at all. This speaks volumes because it means we have a herd who is dedicated to making sure that this current Generation have a little more financial support. What we do only works because of community.
Do not doubt the power of a Mustard Seed Donation.
Mustard Seed Contributions are what really carry our campaigns. From $1, $2, $5, $7, $10 etc it all adds up

HOW DO I BUY APPAREL?
Last Bison Standing is often mistaken for a clothing company. As a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization, the only time apparel is released is for fundraising purposes.
It’s important that we define the term Vintage and Discontinued Apparel Collections as it relates to our organization.
We have been operating officially since August 2014. Long before Last Bison Standing existed, many of our alumni ambassadors and supporters had been collecting Howard apparel from various decades.
As it relates to our Vintage Collections, vendors who have long since closed their doors have passed items on to us. We have also acquired pieces through estate sales, thrift purchases, and apparel obtained from fellow Bison.
As it relates to our Discontinued Collections, for more than 12 years we have produced our own apparel collections for which the appropriate royalties were paid during a time when licensing guidelines were not what they are today.
There are designs and garments that have become staple pieces and will never go out of style.
There are also designs that have been retired but remain available because we still have surplus inventory to sell through. In some cases, the stock photos still feature members of the Class of 2018, who were freshmen when this journey began and are now approaching 30 years old. That should give some insight into just how old some of these collections are.
As it stands today, following a series of thefts—both internal and external—the majority of our vintage and discontinued collections have been relocated to out-of-state storage facilities for safekeeping.
EFFECTIVE August 22, 2019 to eliminate inquiries via email and social media, we have established an electronic (email) notification of all apparel releases.
Here at Last Bison Standing, it’s our mission to support Howard University students, DC Community, and alum financially while providing great quality of merchandise for good prices. We understand that buying apparel to represent your school shouldn’t feel like a student loan payment. We are also committed to continuing to support our beloved university. Unlike street vendors or other unlicensed entities, our alma mater receives 13% royalty of all products that we sell. In addition, we have stayed committed to our original purpose of providing financial assistance to organizations doing community service outside of the university.
